Important Reminder for Parents & Guardians: Safe Parking near School

Please be reminded not to park on road corners or on double yellow lines around school drop-off and pick-up times.

We have recently experienced a few near misses involving children and families. Parking on double yellow lines and corners obstructs sightlines for oncoming drivers and pedestrians, making it significantly harder for children and parents to cross the road safely.

Alternative Parking: Please make use of the Pooles Lane car park, which is FREE and provides a safer, stress-free spot to park before walking over to the school.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our children and community safe!

Reminders

Reporting Pupil Absence

This is a reminder to all parents/carers that the correct way to report absences is to leave a message on the absence line answerphone daily. If messages are sent by email to the admin email address they will not be registered in time for the morning attendance and you may then receive a call from our attendance team.

Supervision

This is a gentle reminder that parents are responsible for supervising their children and siblings on-site before and after school.

Please do not allow children to play on the equipment either before/after school. At the end of the day, parents and children should leave the site promptly . This enables us to open up the playground for our other clubs. Thank you.

KS2 Playground
Please note that the day in KS2 does not start until 8:40am when the doors open. Children should not be left unsupervised on the playground before this time. Children should not play on the equipment. Thank you

Sports Update

Monday 5th October: Special Visitor from SRFC

On Monday, we kicked off the first of our rugby sessions delivered by Owen from SRFC!

The children had a fantastic time trying out new drills, picking up key passing techniques, and learning the fundamentals of the sport. It was wonderful to see so much energy, teamwork, and enthusiasm out on the field.

This was just the start—Owen will be back over the coming Mondays to run sessions for our other classes, so everyone will get a turn to join in the fun!

If your child thoroughly enjoyed their session or is excited to play more, please check the attached flyers for details on how to join SRFC’s youth teams.

Wednesday 7th October: Football Tournament at Deanes School

The Year 6 team headed to Deanes School today for a brilliant morning of football.

Although the tournament finished a little earlier than planned after one of the participating schools was unable to attend, it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits. The team put in a fantastic effort from the very first whistle, showcasing some great passing, strong teamwork, and brilliant individual play throughout.

As is so often the case with tournament football, fine margins make all the difference, and luck just wasn’t on our side today. Despite playing some top-quality football, the results unfortunately didn’t go our way, and we narrowly lost our matches.

Most importantly, the team played with smiles on their faces, showed excellent sportsmanship, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They can be incredibly proud of their performance and determination today!

Online Safety Guides

Internet Matters primary school guide helps you to:

  • Get up to speed on popular apps and platforms like YouTube and Roblox
  • Learn more about risks and challenges they might face, from inappropriate content and too much screentime.
  • Find tips and resources to protect them from online harms
